1000ml pantry jars

The right jar size depends on what goes inside. A jar that is too big wastes shelf space, and one that is too small means refilling every week. This guide shows what each size suits, so you can buy the right jars the first time.

Three rules for choosing
Match size to speed
Pick a smaller jar for spices you use in pinches and a bigger one for what you use by the cupful, like rice and dal.
One size per shelf
Jars of the same height line up neatly, stack cleanly and make labels look consistent.
Square saves space
Square jars sit flush against each other, so more fit on a shelf or rack than round ones.
